Cafe sketches etc.

Sweet Christmas. Here is some more brush-pen action for your procrastination:

Taking a break outside of the State Library of Victoria to eat my snacks, I drew this chap doing the chill.

There was a person behind me lingering over my left shoulder who I think  was watching me draw! I could just about notice them from the corner of my eye. Out of a strong self-consciousness I mustered all the professional poise I could and completed the majority of this drawing there and then. Then, I ceremoniously stood up and did a a mic drop but with a pen instead of a microphone, and walked away leaving all my belongings behind. I might’ve dreamt that last bit though.

I went for a coffee at this cafe on the beach and drew this couple having Prosecco in the sun. They looked like they were on holiday. I could think of nothing else to add to this picture other than having them being hassled by one a tiny muscle-bound man in speedos. They pretended not to notice him.

Another cafe sketch – this time at a place called Square & Compass. For some reason I decided to not draw anybody in the cafe but chose to add some short guy with no neck, in the back garden wondering around aimlessly not knowing how he got there.

An old one from the back cover of one of my sketchbooks. It describes what goes through my head when I really get into a sketch.

TECHNICAL STUFF

These thin white Posca pens are really my jam at the moment. Their ink is really opaque and dries matt instead of glossy. This basically means that any ink that you put over the top doesn’t end up going lighter than it should which used to annoy the hell out of me. Thank you Posca for your advancements in pen.

This is amazing, all of Asgard trembles before your art Ainsley of Earth!

Great stuff. The muscle man looks like a normal height man way in the background, though.

Thank you Stefun Hmm, I tried to see it your way but just can’t believe his positioning if he was way in the background, but thanks for the comment.
